Unlawfully at Large - a DCI Jack Tyler thriller...

So, I have finally finished writing the second DCI Jack Tyler book. It's called Unlawfully at Large, and it focuses on what happens to a rather unpleasant character called Claude Winston who featured briefly in my debut novel, Jack's Back .

If you've read the book, you'll know that Winston was the drug dealing pimp of the New Ripper's first murder victim, Tracey Phillips, and that by the end of the book he ends up exactly where he belongs - in prison, awaiting trial for the attempted murders of two police officers.

Of course, Claude Winston has no intention of spending the rest of his life behind bars, and when his applications for bail are refused, he hatches a plan to escape.

When the time comes to break free, Winston does so in brutish style, leaving a trail of carnage behind him.

With Winston now unlawfully at large, it's up to DCI Jack Tyler and his partner, DI Tony Dillon, to recapture him before he can flee the country and seek refuge in a country without an extradition treaty.

This story was originally intended to be a 40,000 word Novella that I planned to initially make exclusively available for subscribers to my mailing list, but it ended up spiralling into a 170,000 word novel. This is great news in the sense that subscribers will now get a full book instead of a Novella, but of course the knock on effect has been that they have had to wait a little longer than I originally envisaged to get it.

Hopefully, it will be worth the wait!

The book is now going off for proofreading / editing. After that, it will need beta reading before I can make it generally available.

Hopefully, all this work can be completed this month as I am desperate to get it out there as quickly as possible. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly, in which case it should become available for download in November!! If you are a subscriber, watch out for the email giving you instructions on how you can download it.
